The ground rumbled and suddenly the earth crack and rose. The great landmass slid apart and an enormous face emerged and ascended. The sea and sky parted as the head rose, splitting the stratosphere, breaking past the edge of space. It obliterated the ground as it stood up, tectonic plates falling as dust and rubble at its feet. A lone great giant stood on the ocean moon of Aqua Magna gazing into the stars above.

When I saw the Mata Nui rises video long ago, it left a profound impact on me as it was the most epic thing I ever saw. The barren Island of Mata Nui broke apart to reveal a giant robot more massive than anything I can comprehend rise up. So humongous that it would be impossible for the human eye to see from ground level as it has its head in the stars.

That being said I was inspired to paint this after seeing Eternals. The scene of Tiamut emerging from the earth inspired this.
