The primary image is the #1 in a series of typeface art pieces I created and titled:

"RK99 2023 - VEIL & EYES"

When I find time between travel and client work,

I will follow up with other parts and create an entire avatar/character

VARIANT #1/6:

"IRON_EYES on GOLD_VEIL"

(same as header/thumbnail)

The layered typeface art is made to resemble an array of visors or eyes and some lamellae-shaped extensions (implying eyelids and brows in a humanoid),

staring directly at the viewer.

There are multiple colourways of the same concept,

but this one I made in March,

when I was done with unrelated client work.

I usually discard or stash my free time designs,

but I really like how this turned out and will use them on my public profiles.

It and all its variants were based on the design of Bumblebee woth red eyes,

from Bumblebee (2018),

which I had used to use as profile pictures on Newgrounds and other platforms since 2018 or 2019 (pictured)

VARIANT #2/6

"RUBY_EYES on GOLD_VEIL"

As with the IRON_EYES on GOLD_VEIL variant,

this is supposed to resemble a set of brightly glowing eyes,

staring back at the viewer.

The red had a menacing tone and the "material gold" is just my favourite colour to work with.

VARIANT #3/6:

"IRONRUBY_EYES on GOLD_VEIL"

Colour variant #3 of the veil & visor series,

There were some colour combinations that turned out to be bad surprises,

but I really like how this one turned out.

This was when I noted that this could resemble the owl merch logo of VanossGaming,

if I used another colour combination.

But I hope this is different enough to not come off as a ripoff.

VARIANT #4/6:

"IRONRUBY_EYES on IRON_VEIL"

This was a #2 favourite among all combinations,

but I like to have some gold in a prominent position in the frame.

VARIANT #5/6:

"RUBY_EYES on IRON_VEIL"

This one I also like a lot,

even if there was no gold on the canvas.

I only scrapped it because of the way the dark ridge looked like angry eyebrows over the red sclera of the visor.

I like the menacing nature of my visors to be based on a cold and emotionless demeanor,

instead of an angry one.

VARIANT #6/6:

"IRON_EYES on IRON_VEIL"

Technically the most boring of all colour variants,

this one is my favourite #2 or #3.

Whenever I come up with a new variant,

I tend to reload the raw layer data of this one and play with the ARGB dials until something cool jumps off the screen.

Funnily enough,

this was the third or fourth one I came up with - not the first.

There are more on their way.
