One of the best Dad n me drawing yet!!
He looks great!!
I'm assuming you had him fill the space the way you did to show his massive size, but my eye goes right to his feet and the fact that his left one is flat and hidden. It feels really cramped.
If there was a way to push him back a bit and show more foreground it might add some perspective and give it more depth. Right now everything seems on the same plane and a bit flat ...which is accentuated by the two side tanks being the same size and level.
lol, I never know how much to say on these things, so I guess I'll just add this and you can read it or not! ;)
I think if you shrunk him down a smidge, nudged him right so he's not dead center, and added more ground under him... sloping down to the left so he looks like he's on a mound traveling downward towards the tanks... and made the left tank smaller to add some depth and 'air' around him, it would feel more dynamic and less posed... if that makes sense! lol
Another thing to keep in mind is... when/if this gets placed into the calendar, the outer sixteenth to eighth inch (all the way around) will be getting cut off... so be sure to move all important elements (your name, his neck and feet lol) in at least 1/8" (1/4" would be best).
Good luck!! :D
I have to admit, this really is one of the better renditions of him. The colors in this flow very well.
This may be the best ive seen this guy drawn. cudos
