Meeting with the queen

once upon a time i wanted to make a webcomic called sam and toucano. it was essentially a calvin and hobbes type of adventures. maybe one day i'll follow through with it.

anyway here is a brief summary of whats happeneng:
Sam and Touncano make there journey to space for some galactic adventures. upon meeting their first sentient race of aliens, they choose to communicate with the passive tribe. through some trial and error they are able to work around language barriers. they establish a peaceful alliance and are accompanied by one of tribes members. he was dubbed Scriggloo based on the sound he would make. they venture forth helping Scriggloo gather foods for his village. in the village there are many like him but all in various combinations of bright colors. as the curtain of night falls, they learn that Scriggloo's people are bio-luminescent. glowing from the antennae on there head and back. they can control the light and use it too ward away predators or communicate silently. that night they held a feast to celebrate. Scriggloo and his people made this an opportunity to showcase what they are capable of. to their delight they are amazed that these aliens too enjoy sing and dance. the lights start to dim from the tribe and some start to make their way back to their beds. Scriggloo guides our adventurers to his den for they can rest as well. day breaks and Scriggloo informs Sam that he wants to show them their kingdom. its told that the surface has small tribes as decoys. giving other creatures the illusion they are but small race of hunters and gatherers. but outside of this facade, hiding in the depths of their ocean rests the kingdom. hidden by layers of seaweed and coral so no unwanted creatures of the deep may intrude. Scriggloo ecstatically grabs hold of Sam's hands and guides her to the shore. upon this they also learn that this race are as slimey as slugs. Sam does halt his efforts only to inform his she needs to gear herself up for the try to dive into the abyss. ready to go they make their was through the the depths. swimming past all the unique sea life, diving further past the reefs, pushing aside the seaweed, crawling through a hole just big enough in the coral to get to there. a vast kingdom hidden deep beneath the sea. the luminescent life filled the land with twinkling light. the way they glittered about reminded them of the city lights from home. past the high rising coral in the distance, a glow so fierce one could mistake it for a sunrise. in this proud light was the queen's castle. excitedly they make haste to explore the streets. as Sam was enamored by the city so was the city enamored with her. an outside creature no one had ever seen before fascinated the land. it wasn't long before news of this reached the queen. she called out for a meeting to these explorers of the deep. being escorted back to her castle Sam continues to ogle at the beauty of the city. even when they reach the castle it doesn't cease her amazement. finally after being navigated past the gorgeous halls the reach a large open area. glowing pillars and giant coral. additional bio luminescent sea life flutter around seemingly like additional decorations. laying before them is a titan. unsure of what it was at first it happens. she raises her head revealing herself as the queen.

I really love the background, and the scene depicted fits your description well. The coloring and shading is also quite nice and nothing really clashes against each other. Well done. <3
