“Looks like Nazo isn’t alone when it comes to being connected to a certain blue hedgehog. Upgraded from a final boss in one of the early games in the Sonic series, Metallix proved himself to be much more than a throwaway robot. Setting Sonic’s entire world ablaze, he rampaged to the world of his former rival in gaming, Mario. Now, however, Metallix’s search for the Chaos Emeralds has come to a halt. If he wants to show everyone here he means business, he’ll have no choice but to CRUSH THEM!”

Much like Nazo, Metallix would have to be nerfed a bit in order to be, y'know, at the same level as the other characters (no powerscaling allowed... you really thought I forgot about that, didn't you?). Anyways, do you notice anything different about this art in particular? Yup, the shading is pixelated. I figured it'd make sense, as Metallix comes from a sprite animation rather than being hand-drawn. It makes him really stand out amongst the other characters' showcases. Also fun fact: the Sonic IDW comics actually referenced SMBZ by having Mecha Sonic exclaim at one point "I'LL CRUSH YOU!" That's probably one of the only times Sonic fans can come together for something amazing, but that's not surprising.
