Kemuri mazapanda

Story

Kemuri was the son of an animal rescuer, who one day brought a baby panda to his house. The baby panda was rescued from a disreputable circus. The panda had to be cared for until it recovered and later be released.

Kemuri, who was then called Damaris, became very fond of the panda in such a way that he wanted to be just like a panda. He dressed in black and white clothes, painted his face like a panda, and wore headbands with panda ears.

Years passed, the baby panda had already grown up and Kemuri had already turned 14, it was time to free the panda so the father of Damaris (Kemuri) took them both to a special institution in Asia that was in charge of registering , heal, rehabilitate and release wild animals, whether or not they are in danger of extinction.

What Damaris and his father did not know is that this place was a facade that concealed the true purposes of the institution. Below the facilities was a genetic engineering laboratory that aimed to study and experiment with cells from various animals to create hybrids or revive extinct animals. Although the end of this laboratory does not seem so bad, it was a secret facility that operated secretly from the government, in addition to cruelly experimenting with animals and even some hybrid animals were sold to private companies or millionaire people, just to generate more income and keep experimenting.

The government of that country, together with Peta, were already suspicious of that place and had sent infiltrated personnel to confirm their suspicions.

Damaris (kemuri) and his father, accompanied by a veterinary doctor, were in a special room where they would give the panda a medical check-up before he was released. At that moment a great roar resounded through the place, it seemed like an explosion or as if someone had thrown a huge steel door. The father and the doctor running to investigate while Damaris (kemuri) and the panda were left alone in that room hoping that nothing bad had happened.

From here is when all the chaos would begin to occur. Loud footsteps and noises were heard as if they had invaded the place. An alarm went off, and then shots from high-powered weapons began to sound. Damaris and the panda ran to a containment area that was located right next to the room and connected to a metal door. The place was an area that recreated the habitat of a panda but on a smaller scale. After about an hour, the noises stopped including the alert alarm.

Although a little scared Damaris wanted to go out to investigate what had happened but he told his gang that he should stay there, that he did not want anything bad to happen to him, and he left the door ajar.

When Damaris (Kemuri) stepped outside, he was faced with a devastated stage. There were broken furniture, some broken walls as well as parts of the ceiling, there were a few corpses lying on the floor. Curiously, the clothing of some corpses corresponded to the uniform of a military squad, others corresponded to the appearance of an illegal hunter and one more seemed to be a guard of the place. Damaris was terrified but she decided to continue exploring until she heard cries for help. She quickly addressed those screams hoping to find someone alive besides her father.

When she got to the place of the screams, she found a badly injured doctor among rubble in a place below the floor of a room. It was dark and a little humid, but that was due to a lack of power and broken water pipes. Apparently the doctor was crushed by some beams that were on top of her 2 legs, she could not move and could not get out. The doctor asked the boy for help, Damaris ran to help her even though she knew she couldn't do anything to get her out of there. At that moment her father appeared entering the same place. He too had heard the cries for help and was coming to see. Father and son meet and both try to help the doctor. But then they hear someone approaching ... it is the panda and looking at them from above at the entrance of the sunken place and just at that moment! Something attacks the panda and shakes it hard while the panda screams. Damaris screams and his potato runs with a metal tube in hand to help the panda. Damaris stays with the doctor until she hears her father screaming in pain minutes later and Damaris screams for her father and goes out to look for him, while the doctor yells at her not to go. 

Damaris comes out and watches a horrible scene. There is a strange dead creature on the ground, with a stinger in its tail and a ferret-like appearance with some limbs that made it look like a large but mammalian-looking insect. Next to him, a trail of blood that pointed to the end of a corridor. Damaris walked and observed something that would leave him traumatized for life. His father was dead on the floor next to a metal tube and on him was… the panda, his best friend, devouring his father's guts. Damaris groaned and the panda turned around with an angry expression, his bear was full of blood and what looked like a huge black thorn, wedged into the side of his head. The panda ran to attack Damaris and she ran in the opposite direction to escape. But it was inevitable. The panda lunged and pushed him causing him to collide with a metal shelf full of chemicals that fell on him, being badly injured. The panda bit him on the leg making him bleed. Damaris quickly used a piece of metal from the shelf to defend herself. There was no other way ... he had to kill his best friend who accompanied him for years. Damaris stabbed the panda in the neck, fatally wounding him and that's when the panda stopped biting his leg.

Damaris began to scream in suffering, not only in pain from his injuries or the burning of the chemicals on his skin, but because he had murdered his best friend. As he could, he got up to see if the doctor was still okay, but when he returned to that place, the doctor was literally destroyed in her face, her face was missing and her chest was open, on her, there were 2 creatures similar to the thing that had seen a few moments ago.

Those things began to growl and Damaris fled as fast as he could. Despite having a very bad leg, he managed to escape and leave the facility and went to a bamboo forest where he got lost trying to flee.

One day after what happened at the facility. Damaris was still lost in the bamboo forest, but something strange was happening to her. She felt dizzy and noticed that some parts of her skin turned a black tint and she felt itching all over her body. After 2 days, the change was evident. She began to grow fur all over her body, her mouth elongated a bit like a bear, her fangs fell off and new ones were growing again. Damaris found a pool of water where she was able to drink a little and in her reflection, she saw what was happening to her ... she was beginning to turn into a panda although not all, her physical appearance was still humanoid.

After a few months. Damaris achieved civilization or rather, a small town. By this point his transformation was complete and he had survived by eating bamboo just like a panda. He tried to sneak up on the streets while he thought about what to do, until some people saw him. Damaris got distraught but the people weren't scared, they actually started laughing a little and left. Confused, Damaris turned around and saw that he was in front of a clothing store that his mascot in the logo was a panda. People thought he was a botarga because of his humanoid appearance. This was a bit useful for him to go more unnoticed in the public although he knew that he would attract attention but they would think that he is just a botarga. He stole clothes from a house and left town. At that time, his new mission was to get back to his country of origin and if possible ... to get to his house as well.

Present

Currently Damaris is 20 years old, she changed her name not legally to Kemuri and managed to return to her house by herself. Kemuri made a living as a street show for a while but now she hacks and works anonymously for private companies as a computer security consultant. This knowledge she obtained thanks to the fact that her father had already taught her a little programming and computer science and in fact he had a large number of books on the subject that Kemuri studied shortly after returning home.
