I adore this piece, the texture of the feathers is outstanding, the composition draws the eye up and down the whole image, and the use of a sharp, de-saturated yellow against the murky blue-green creates a chilling contrast. Truly horrifying, yet immensely peaceful.

Painted this yesterday for a story idea I had, wasn't really sure what I was going for going into it but also wanted to combine several references and see how it would come out. Also wanted to mess around with texture in Photoshop.

Originally I wasn't going to have the owl looking at the viewer but I like how it came out
