I feel this is the culmination of everything being perfected. The time looks to have been well utilized. I often feel like I give too much or too little time to work on speedpaints, but this looks perfectly executed in the allotted time. The attention to detail is perfect. The environment is of perfect size to get across what it is. I'm actually glad it's not a view of the entire ballroom. Instead, we get a good look at the wall and window designs.
The wintery scene outside the windows is gorgeous. I'm so glad I suggested it at the last minute. I got the impression that you were disappointed the commission wasn't going to have a winter theme, so I tried to include it somewhere, and that made it all the more perfect. This December piece marks the characters' anniversary, so that makes it even more special. They've been a couple for a year now, yay!
The characters are in perfect focus, allowing us to see the details in their costumes (which I was very proud of my friend for designing those) and their telling expressions/demeanors. The lighting, colors and mood are perfect. This looks like the cover of a danmei novel, and that's perfect because I did ask for an "indulging beauty" vibe. I'm even writing a short story about this scene, so now I have a cover ready if I ever upload it to TH, haha.
This piece is fighting tooth and nail with the group selfie for the title of "my absolute favorite calendar piece". Perfect is the only word I can use to describe this. It's definitely being printed to hang in my room. Thank you so much for an amazing catalog of pieces for my calendar. I'll be enjoying all of these for years to come. And I look forward to ordering many more commissions in the future. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! <333
