The fiery-throated hummingbird, Panterpe insignis, is a hummingbird from Costa Rica and Panama. From one angle the bird's plumage looks dark and metallic yellow-green. When the light reflects off their feathers in just the right way their feathers explode with color. Their throat turns bright red and yellow, their bellies and heads turn bright blue.
