At some point you have enough, and then life will push you futher than your limit. Laura Brightstar has been pushed beyond that limit but was able to pull herself back from that dark place. Seeing Angels decend on your home and hurt so many people is something that crushes you. It makes you feel unsafe. In a rush of revenge, Laura ambushed a lonesome Angel after the attack and had beaten it to near death. In a moment of clarity, Laura held back and realized killing won't bring back people taken away from the attack. Breaking the wings of the angel, Laura promises to fight against the celestials and make the people around her feel safe regardless of the situation. After a survivor marked Laura with the ability to use wind magic, she felt like she had all the tools to save people from Angel kind.
