Metal Slug is a classic side-scrolling run-and-gun arcade game, and has a particular pair of cute anime-style female soldiers to play as, Fio and Eri! In the second game, there are two types of plant enemies that can devour them with what I think are some great sprite animations and even screams! Considering I love game overs, I thought Metal Slug was a perfect cult classic for the treatment. ;)

"Fio and Eri, two members of Regular Army's Peregrine Falcon Squad, are on a mission that not even the special ops could have trained them for. Used to fighting the human soldiers of General Morden's Army, their usual tactics prove to be ineffective against the litany of non-human enemies the Mars People have brought with them in their invasion of Earth.
