Day 300: Nearing the home-stretch

Share

Can you believe I've been doing this for 300 days? Holy crap! It almost feels like it was in Day 200 a month ago. Man time sure flies by.

I tried something a little different with the shading and used a smaller brush size for the airbrush I keep using. The result is that I have more control where I can shade without constantly making and merging layers, but makes the shading look rougher. The rougher look is nice on these characters, then again any type of shading I throw on these characters looks nice. They're just so flexible with everything I throw at them, and that's why I like drawing them.

I also tried the line-art technique I used in Day 292 again, and it's OK. I've got something here, I just need to tweak it a little. The thin lines blend-in with the background while the thick lines stick-out too much.

And finally, I used my line-art technique from 298, and it worked way better than I thought. I thought for sure the colours would clash with one another, but they didn't. The only one I had some issues with was the face line-art: using pure black clashed with the blue line-art of the body, so instead I used a darker blue which let's me make the eyes pop-out while not clashing with the lighter blue body colour.

All and all, this was a fun drawing, and this was a nice little mini milestone drawing, but this will be the last full colour and shaded drawing I'll do for a while 'cause colouring and shading takes-up the entire day...and I've got more important things to do...like right now.
