Alright, first art of the gallery!

I felt like starting off with one of my favorite character design batches, which is the undead squad! I created them out of a dash of inspiration I had when watching one of my friends stream Have a Nice Death ^^

That game has such charming visuals and animations... even when the whole context is very morbid. Some of the humor and sass in it does the job of lighting up the grim atmosphere, and the style oozes funky angles and expressions! Definitely one of my style inspirations by now.

The linework was done with ballpoint pen on paper, then scanned and colored in on FireAlpaca (one of my favorite art programs to use!). And there's a bit of lore I've thought for them too:

Ellie: Once a regular nurse helping the research team on fighting off the zombie infection, she ended up infected on an accidental breach, and had no choice but to use an untested antidote on herself. It was enough to keep her sanity, but not enough to fully stop her body from decaying. She's got a few screws loose, but is willing to help the team with healthcare and fighting when needed. And speaking of healthcare... her healthkit is technically a mimic!

Pascal: Ellie's loyal pet companion, he was also infected during the breach, but the antidote caused a rather odd reaction on him. He mutated, being able to stand on his own legs, and carry the true antidote in his blood. Some tweaks later, he was technically a cyborg pigeon with an antidote tank on his chest, acting as a walking storage for the crew and emotional support buddy! Dude could even act as an antidote bomb as a last resort, but don't fret- he's sturdy, practically feels no pain, and can always be rebuilt again ^^ He's happy to help the team!

Ritch: A mysterious ghost writer who procrastinated on his own job to write this apocalyptic tale. Every time he would be busted, his boss would click the shock collar he's wearing, but every zap would only ignite his creative flames even more. He eventually deserted his office, going missing for years, and only returning a long time later, carrying a full-blown story and a pseudonym. Where he's off to now? Nobody knows...
