One day I saw a cool piece of promo art for No More Heroes 2 that had one of the ranked killers just lounging around with one of his female subordinates. I took that concept and applied it to Silent-Bill and Rebecca, two characters who are bluntly obvious tributes to Silent Hill.

Bill was a native-american mechanic,maintenance man, and junkyard owner who inherited his blue-collar lifestyle from his deceased father even though he had a more artistic side to him that liked to work with airbrushing.

Rebecca was a girl of Italian and Jewish descent who had powerful psychics and kabbalists on each side of her family. As you'd guess, these hereditary gifts passed down to her made it difficult for her to get along with most kids her age. Still, she found a clique to hang out with that were mainly into Goth and Punk music. Rebecca was the singer among her misfit crew whom called themselves "The Harpies".

When Rebecca was 16 Bill saved her from an electrical fire in a night-club where her and her friends were performing. Because of his timely intervention she only suffered 2nd degree burns on her arms and legs that healed over time. Rebecca was very grateful to Bill ,even developing somewhat of a crush on him but she was still in high school whereas he was still a working man doing various tasks around town. Bill was able to deduce the electric fire was caused on purpose with malicious intent but did not know who was responsible. Regardless, Rebecca's parents were simply happy to have their daughter back safe and alive.

Two years later Rebecca and her best friend Kai came to Bill for help after a mob of angry seniors threw rocks at her and she retaliated by using her telekinesis to push them down some stairs. This prompted a chase thru Bill's Junkyard.

By intervening and trying to break up the commotion between the teenagers Bill inadvertently tempted fate and amidst falling down the steep slope of a junk heap along with Rebecca, both were impaled on the same jagged piece of rusted metal, left bleeding,and tragically linked in death.

Finding himself in a burgundy colored room with a masked figure wearing a Guy Fawkes mask, Bill was presented with a series of different themed masks and helmets,all which would conceal his face. The mysterious specter informed Bill he had been choosen as a judge but still had to decide on his theme. Judges were a militia of undead nocturnal beings chosen to aid the innocent and punish the corrupted.

Bill picked up the bone mask and became a "wendigo", a humanoid creature in his own tribe's legends whom wore the skull of a deer or ram whilst hungering for the flesh of guilty and evil people, especially those slippery charlatans that always take advantage of the loopholes within mortal laws. Despite Bill's mask and huge metal blade occasionally being aglow in multi-colored flames, these fires from hell actually cause frost bite instead of immolation. By contrast, Rebecca simply became a ghost but one powerful enough to manipulate objects,temporarily take on corporeal form, and people on the material plane. (A restless spirit)

Odd and sad turn of events aside, Kai maintains his friendship with both Bill and Rebecca and the three of them form a vigilante group to bring influential and corrupt sinners down into the pits of judgement and retribution.
