For some reason this reminds me of the good-bye between Navi and Oot Link...
It also reminds me of the fact that the Hero Shade from TP was Oot Link...
That sure stung... to see the little boy you played as in Oot ended up as a... spectral skeletal knight...

man this is one of, if not the saddest farewell of all zelda games imo. this one and when SPOILER ALERT: Marin turns into a seagull in Link's Awakening
