Sparx the Wolf/Chao Show Iceberg EXPLAINED!

Share

3rd year in a row someone DMed me an Iceberg chart. This one makes more sense than the last 2 seeing how STW and Chao Show were my first two major online series. Not sure why they decided to make this one both Sparx AND Chao Show, but nevertheless I decided to not only upload it here, but to also explain each entry! I'll do the first layer in the description and leave a link to the full one for you to either read for yourself or to copy and paste it to an AI reader to listen to while you sleep. lol

Also, I'm guessing all the entries outlined in blue are referring to STW, red is referring to The Chao Show, and I guess green means both.

LAYER 1

Flipnote Hatena: As some of you may know by now, Flipnote Hatena was an online site where you could upload these short animations called Flipnotes you make on your DSi. Hatena was where I made the Sparx the Wolf and Chao Show series. Sadly the site was shut down on May 30th 2013 leaving many projects I planned on the chopping block. Some of which I’ll get into in a bit. You can check out all my stuff HERE if you wanna look into my earlier internet days.

The Comitian Language: Did you know that Sparx’s people actually have their own language? It was inspired by the Al Bhed’s language from Final Fantasy X. And of course by “inspired” I mean stole it. It’s as simple as “replace A with I, and Z with X.” I may rework it sometime in the future.

The Elemental Gauntlets: The Elemental Gauntlets are seven gauntlets that grant their wielder an elemental ability. Sparx’s electric powers come from the Storm Gauntlets. The other six are the Whirlwind (wind), Geo (earth), Hydro (water), Hazard (poison), Heaven (light), and Inferno (fire). Bonus fact, each gauntlet corresponds to the different colors of the Chaos Emeralds.

Minute of Chaos: It was a “series” of shorts where Chaos talks about stuff going on in Hatena. I say “series” in quotations because only 2 episodes were ever made, one being about these scary story flipnotes and one advertising Shade the Vampire, then known as Blood-Shot. I was working on a third one that would parody these flipnotes that would say stuff like “Give 100 stars to adopt a Pichu.” These were known as “Star beggars” which they would just ask for stars. For context, stars were how you would like/favorite flipnotes. The parody I mentioned was in the style of one of those “In the ARMS OF an ANGEL” commercials. But sadly I lost interest in it after I heard news that the site was shutting down.

Russian Buddy: Ravilas Nicklai Viktorivich, or “Russian Buddy” as he’s more commonly referred to as, is an imaginary figure that only Dash can see and communicate with. He’s a parody of the character Viktor Reznov from the Call of Duty Black Ops series. He made his debut in Chao of Duty and recently appeared in the Chao Holiday Special.

Gamma Sparx: Every Sonic OC needs a super form and this is Sparx’s. Not requiring a specific energy source, once Sparx absorbs a CRAP-load of energy he turns into Gamma Sparx. His fur turns from gray and blue to silver and cyan and has the usual properties of a super form.

Chao the Movie 2: It was a planned sequel to my CINEMATIC OPUS that is Chao the Movie. Ideas ranged from being stranded on a deserted island, time travel, and an alien invasion. That third one actually being a suggestion from several followers. It was supposed to be made after The Chao Show season 1 and set up season 2. But as you can probably tell, this was canceled after the site was shut down.

Otto’s mom: The only parent that made an onscreen appearance in the show was Otto’s mom in part 5 of Chopper’s Birthday. Previously, we only heard her voice off screen in Chao of Duty part 1 where she asks Otto to take out the trash.

Bridge Between Worlds: A sudo follow up to the Hatena series, cause that’s what you do, make a sequel to a series you haven’t even finished yet. It was gonna center around a human girl with the ability to open a portal between Earth and Comitia, hence the title. I actually plan on revisiting this idea so I won’t say much more than that.

Chao Show cameos in STW: The Chao are hidden throughout STW. Dash can be found on the fridge behind Midnight in part 4, Otto can be found on the Comitian ruins in part 9, and Chopper can be found on the back of a kid’s hat in part 19. I planned on Chaos to be hidden amongst some jack-o-lanterns during a flashback sequence taking place during Halloween, and I haven’t thought of where to put Larry yet.

Reboot: A reboot of both STW and Chao Show has been in the works for some time now. Pretty much all my recent artwork and comics is set in this new continuity. I’ve also decided to merge the two series together in the same universe, hence Sparx and Tyson appearing in the Chao Holiday Special. This new version of STW will start off with an all new story but later on will retell the story of the Hatena series and likely BBW too.

“The Vandiliz Rs”: In part 44 of Chao the Movie Chopper, Chaos, and Berserker (more on him later) trash the villain’s lair before the phrase “The Vandiliz Rs” splashes on the screen. It's a stylized version of “vandalizers” and meant to be a running gag throughout The Chao Show. There’s a deleted scene in Chopper’s Birthday where Chaos, Dash, and Larry steal the wedding cake from a wedding before the phrase “The Cake Jack Rs” appears on screen.
