It has come to my attention that my current patient, Commissar Karl Fausch, a decorated war hero of Picard IV and current commissar of the Iron Yorktire Troopers regiment, is wracked with tremendous guilt. This might explain his current lack of social interactions with other personal, as well as his difficulty in sleeping, thus negatively effecting his leadership and combat skills. I have also received reports by the psykers that he is also suffering from hallucinations as well.
Though unheard of by many, it isn’t uncommon for commissars, mostly new ones, to feel guilty for executing their own troops. I can’t blame him though. After all, guilt is one humanity’s oldest and purest emotions and indoctrination alone isn’t enough to kill it. I have found several therapies that would be effective in this case, but I must be quick to deal with it.
Once the Commissariat gets word of this, they will execute him. I must do whatever it takes to save both his mind and life. After all, it is my duty as militarum counselor to examine and maintain the mental wellbeing of the Imperium’s warriors, be it simple guardsman, commander, or commissar.” - Diary of Dr. Deanna Freud, IPhD in Psychiatry and Imperial Guard Counselor.
