Deadly ham, is nothing against my magic sandwitch

Poor Zelda

doooh what a silly piggy

How is Metroid dead?

Nice drawing though .. you might want to add some more textures or shadows at the walls to minimize the paleness of the slates..

Same to the flesh at the left. A little too slick for my taste. But that’s only my opinion.

I would like to see another version with more shadows, edges, texture, structure and stuff. But not as much as in digital comic art. Just toughen and roughen it up a little. The overall style and detail is great.

nathanandersonart responds:

Thanks for the critique! I don't want to overwhelm the piece with detail, but I do think something to break up the large spaces of the walls below the skull lanterns would add a bit of depth. Though again, I wanted the details to be centralized more on Ganon, being the subject of the piece. What do you mean by 'flesh'?

As far as Metroid goes, 'Other M' killed the series. I had drawn this before any new games had been announced (aside from stupid shit like Federation Force). Then, the next mainline title they follow it up with was a lackluster remake of Metroid 2- fans already beat Nintendo to the punch with AM2R, and it's a superior game to the official one.

Not sure how I feel about the announcement of Prime 4 either. After 2 years, all we have is a logo, and an announcement that it was scrapped and restarted, showing a lack of good planning. At the moment, vague "we're working on it" statements aren't really enough to indicate that it's actually being made, and the next game will have to be excellent to restore any faith I had in Nintendo's treatment of the series.
