A man with a bell was running around the Fair, trying to warn people that something was coming, and soon everyone would die. It was explained to me that it's an old tradition, and you are supposed to ignore him and enjoy the festivities.

Gotta wonder about how that tradition stays up. Holiday customs people don't care for or think are too much work usually get forgotten.

Do people enjoy getting picked to run around in a silly outfit, screaming and making noise and getting all up on everyone's faces? Or do they dread being singled out to spend the entire festival alone, being ignored in an uncomfortable suit that might get them made fun of? Something inbetween? I guess it depends on the person.

This may seem less important than how the tradition started, but I'm not sure I wanna know that one.
