Watching some Flintstones recently. I remembered how similar I thought Fred and Barney's voices were to American Mario and Luigi, especially in the Mario 3/World cartoons. This is the result of that.
Likewise, these (Assets and Characters) are the result of that (Their Creators)

They could've shot for something more stylized, I remember the boards for Super Show being more organic and then pipelined into the generic DiC look
