Dagan are amphibious creatures native to Margos. The largest populations reside along Margos’ western shores in grand kelp cities. Smaller communities can be found all across Margos, mostly on coastlines and wetlands, but some individuals will travel even as far inland as humans.

Although the land has long been conquered by humans, dagan who live under the sea remain largely independent politically. Dagan are born in large broods as tadpoles which require little supervision from elders to survive. Because of this, dagan feel much greater kinship with their many brothers and sisters than with their parents. In fact it is common for dagan to have no idea who their mother or father were. These broods form clan-like communities within their larger community, working alongside other broods for their own betterment and the advancement of their larger community.

Not all dagan remain within their communities however, either for individual reasons or in an attempt to bring back knowledge or resources which will benefit their brood. These dagan are comparatively rare, and may even face ostracization from their community depending upon the circumstances of their exodus.
