This is my piece, a mixed media piece using wet and dry media. This piece is actually two pieces of paper used to create a shadow box affect with a colored image in front and a black and white image in the back. I wanted to create something that tied into the materials that I was using.

The dry media: burnt pieces of wood used for drawing, coffee grounds (as is and burnt), burnt tea leaves, and wood and paper ash.

The wet media: a coffee/tea mixture and vanilla extract, along with some of the ashes mixed in to achieve darker browns.

I used paper towels to apply the wet media and to as blending tools for the dry media.

I also burned the area around the Illustrated character to make it as if he burned through the front portion of the piece.
