A Cult Headed by The Distressed Deerling, Autumn, and their Deceased Sibling, Winter.

The deer siblings lived their lives day to day in the forest, enjoying their time having fun and playing games amongst the trees. One night when the siblings where winding down from one of their fun antics when Autumn was abducted by hooded figures that took off into the woods. Grabbing an wood carvers axe from a nearby tree Winter rushed off after them.

Winter got there just in time, Stopping the ritual narrowly, cleaving multiple cultists in half as more encroached from the woods around the alter. Winter releases Autumn as the two run off with the cultists in hot pursuit. Rushing past the brush, the barbs cutting into the the siblings flesh as they ran. The further the two went the only darkness only grew more oppressive, a pained yelp escaped Autumns mouth as he collapsed onto the ground, his leg bound by some forest vines. Winter whips around eyes caught on prone silhouette of her sibling. Her eyes quickly switching to the approaching army of cultists and starts to fight off them as Autumn struggles to get free of the forest's vines.

In one last ditch effort the cultists throw in their all Winter barely pulling through. Tails, ears, blood and heads flew every which ways as Winter fiercely defended her brother. Light breaks through the tree tops as Winter cleaves the last cultist standing, their head collides with the ground with a soft squelch. Winter turns around to face her brother, She drops her axe as tears well in her eyes and embraces her brother. The two Deerfolk embrace on a battlefield littered with corpses, as the two separate a Blade pierces through the sternum of Winter the last thing heard on the bloodied and grizzled grass was the soft sound of a body hitting the ground.

Autumn was shaken by his siblings passing at the hands of the cult member. The sight of his sister pierced by a sacrificial dagger seared into the traumatized sibling's mind. unable to process what had occurred that night Autumn passed out. When he awoke he spoke to a god that offered his older sister's life back for more favor amongst the forest critters. Now he sets off to return his sister to the living by felling the opposing cults and growing his follower count.

Gameplay

In gameplay I imagine you can swap between the two characters. These two being bound together by a spiritual chain, restricting Winter to a small area around Autumn.

Each character Is more oriented toward a specific playstyle. Autumn is the mage, using magic to protect themselves from harm and Blast enemies to bits. They have a small melee shove that pushes enemies away from them. whereas Winter is the more physical build, only able to hack and slash chaining hits together for massive damage.

Both characters posses 3 hearts and both die if the other drops below 0 hearts. Winter only can be hit when she is called upon by her brother Autumn. While playing as Winter she must protect Autumn as he can still take damage.
