Minimalist TF2 engineer

Another pic from like over a year ago I never got around to posting. I liked the idea of engie being this round lil dude. Engie is super reliant on his sentry, though he can actually be dangerous with his shotgun like most classes, and his dispenser. On top of this teleports are a game winning building since they help support their team so much. Because of how important engie's actual buildings are to his playstyle I couldn't not add them. Apologies for the long text btw, its completely fair if you don't read it. Its more for my sake to catalogue my thoughts in case I forget them. Also for anyone who ever plays engie, BUILD A TELEPORTER AFTER YOU SET UP PLEASE, EVERYONE WILL BE GRATEFUL IF YOU DO AND IT SAVES GAMES.

Engie's really tiny and just has his wrench and pistol. Didnt want to give him the shot gun since its two handed and actually threatening. Meant he couldn't really be holding the wrench which is his MOST IMPORTANT item since you need it for buildings and would take away from how monstrous the sentry is. Also unlike other classes orange is a VERY important color for engie, to a point he looks actually a little odd with a replacement color. Not as much on the buildings but the color is definitely noticeable on them too. Plus I like how it sorta compliments the "construction" feel engie has so it was important enough to keep while minimalizing these designs. I also just decided to give engie this like big hunched back and just small look since usually engies are crouched hiding behind their sentries too like little turtles in a shell. Also engies most defining feature on his face are his helmet and the goggles under them. Gave them this sorta shadowy effect to further push that "unassuming hiding turtley" look.

I went for mostly squares and triangles for the sentry. Triangles show how threatening the thing is and sorta compliments how focused and threatening those behemoths are. I always went for making it very box like to show its tankiness. Sentries, even without the wrangler, are one of the tankiest things in the game. Sentries hit harder than heavies and have even more health than a soldier does, they're absolutely strong, sturdy tanks. I also gave it similar bullet shots as the minimalist heavy since they're similar guns and heavy's were based on the older effect he had before the final game release changed it to be more realistic. I also gave more detailing to the sentry, mainly in the more dynamic legs, pose, and bullet chain things to make it even more imposing vs the rest of the stuff on the image.

Conversely the dispenser is one of the few true supportive things in the game along with medic. It's invaluable for metal and healing both the engie and his team. Went for a boxy rounded look since it can be a foundational spot for teams and is the exact opposite of a threat. I gave the teleporter a small, shiny sleek look to sorta complement how they get people to places quickly and are constantly spinning fast and just great for cutting down time for a team. Always build a tele if you can, they're usually able to win games through their spawn support. Gets people to you to help defend your stuff and makes it easier to recover from players dying so you wont get pushed out as easily.

Ayyy thanks, glad ya like it! Was something I needed to get around to posting honestly. I need to finish this little series. Kinda put it on the back burner for a while and I really want to revisit the other classes and stuff.
