Sonic’s fast but there are times where his speed can reach Flash levels. So while Sonic can’t run to the end of the time or throw a punch with infinite mass, he can grab his friends and get them out of an exploding factory in a split second. It’ll just take a lot out of him and leave him vulnerable. And this sets up Bunnie’s character arc. What will her family do in the future and how will Bunnie respond?
