Moai Alexandria - Konami vs. Capcom

Share

Okay so the story behind this one is that I liked the idea of a Moai participating in this hypothetical crossover fighter, but the thought of having just a disembodied head sliding around seemed kind of boring (even though they did exactly that in DreamMixTV World Fighters), and a complete Moai statue doesn't have all that much visual flair - the heads are the most appealing things about them. So I figure alright, there's a puzzle game Konami made for the Famicom called Moai-kun where a Moai head walks around with little stone feet, maybe I'll draw that. That's cute, but still didn't really feel like it cut it. Then there's Konami Wai Wai World, where one of the playable characters is Moai Alexandria, which is the same shit as Moai-kun, just a head and legs, but less cutesy. Still no good. But THEN I stumble upon Hai no Majutsushi, a shitty little mahjong game on the Famicom where you "play" as different Konami characters, which just amounts to different character portraits for your avatar. But in the manual for Hai no Majutsushi, for which a Moai head is a selectable character, there is exactly one drawing of a Moai wearing a business suit:

And I just couldn't resist.

Sharp confidence stands bold as Battleship MOAI follows his order to barrel through and deliver /crushing/ punishment, that's what I'm seeing here.
