My entry for the William and Sly art contest
I vaguely remember playing a Fox Platformer when I was younger
Honestly? We need more games like this. Just a whimsical, mysterious, and mild.
I hope I captured a sense of nostalgia with this art piece, just as I intended.
I just love how the use of fluid movements on the fox blends nicely with the perspective that conveys the feeling of elegance and grace. The warm colours give this carefree vibe and what I like the most is that how the fox's snout is pointing out the sun as if it indicates the road to a new future or hope.
I also love how lighting and highlights along with the angle where we see the scene give a sense of gentle and orbiting movements. I admit that the entire composition gives me a nostalgia vibe when it comes to the forest and background. It reminds me of those adventure videogames I used to play when I was little, a period of absence of worries.
