Happy Mermay, everyone! I have been working my ass off lately with projects and personal life, so I haven't had much time to practice digital art, but hopefully these drawings will help me get back into the swing of it! Y'all know how much I love to draw merpeople, so using this year's Mermay tradition is a great way to improve. I know that even in this drawing, I probably made quite a few mistakes, but I'm proud of this result and I honestly don't really mind them staying in the final version. Although I'm open to tips for the next Mermay drawing, lmao

Now, why did I choose one of my many favorite VTubers to draw as a mermaid first? Well, I'mma get personal for a second...

This is an early birthday present for Mary. Mary has been a big inspiration to me, concerning how you shouldn't be afraid to draw how you want. Heck, my sona is sorta based around her! Not entirely, but in some aspects. Even though I've been missing streams lately, she never fails to put a smile on my face when I feel down. I know that eventually, she won't stream anymore, but I know that she'll continue to make people happy and cheerful. And even after she's passed, if someone finds her old VOD YouTube channel, she'll inspire them to be a VTuber/artist too.

I also included a mini reference to her Halloween drawing last year with the gill shape on her neck. Cuz I can :)
