What happens when you get your punk gf to do your shopping for you. While Ninjiro would love nothing more than to only wear his ninja uniform, Jennifer wouldn't let him hang out with her outside of the apartment with it on. Mostly for the pragmatic reason that wearing it in public could attract unwanted attention from a certain clan, but the thought that it'd just look utterly ridiculous might have crossed her mind as well. One shopping spree later, she got him some fresh duds, new matching mask included! Jen seems particularly fond of how he looks, but Ninjiro himself is much less enthused. Granted, he wouldn't have liked anything she got him.

I knew that Ninjiro couldn't be in his ninja costume 24/7, but I really struggled imagining him in civvies. One of his defining character traits is that he almost never takes off his mask, so I had to work that in. I was originally just going to go with a plain hoodie, but I thought the jacket was more visually interesting and closer to what Jen would pick out for him.

Speaking of Jenny, I actually like how she looks here a lot. That's crazy since when I first started I really couldn't get her head shape or face structure down. Now? This might be the best I've ever drawn her.

As an aside, if you recognize the reference on her top, congrats! You know more about it than she does. Consider it canon that she only bought the shirt because the design was cool.
