Leapin' Jack

Share
What happens when a common hood happens to run across gadgets that once belonged to Spring-Heels? A whole heap of trouble, that's what!

Leapin' Jack is no joke and is perhaps one of the nastiest of Ninjiro's enemies. Lacking the kind of moral code that restrained Spring Heels, Jack will do anything for the right price... or if he thinks it's fun. However, his definition of fun might differ from yours or mine. Punishing both guilty and innocent alike, Jack is a leaping looney bin's worth of crazy.

When Lunaeus puts a hit out on Ninjiro's head, Leapin' Jack wastes no time setting his sights on the ninja. The only hard part will be trying to bring his quarry in alive. While that reward money would be sweet, the chance to top his predecessor might be even sweeter.

After only a single day's break, the deluge of Ninjiro content continues! This time with a new antagonist, one I thought up just today. Well, yesterday now technically. The character of Spring-Heels has really shifted a lot as this story develops. Originally intended to be a complete psycho without any morals, the current direction for the character has softened them quite a bit as all the pieces started falling together.

While I do like what I've got for that character a lot, stuff I'd really like to show you guys someday, I did miss the original idea of a spring hopping mad bomber. At first I considered bringing in a new Spring-Heels after the current one is done away with, but the idea of a new character taking their equipment sounded more exciting to me. That's how Leapin' Jack was born. It helps that I just really love characters with pumpkin heads.

If you're wondering about the candle grenades, the idea was actually derived from the "Jack be nimble, Jack be quick," nursery rhyme.

Cool how much you were able to be inspired from a single line! Jack has a great villain design, and seems like he’d be a really fun and even endearing foe.

Fun and strangely endearing is exactly what I was aiming for! Glad you seem to agree!
