This piece was drawn for a certain special someone who loves this adorable little pink puffball like I do. It's pretty different from what I usually draw, but it turned out pretty nice. I couldn't help but to write a short story for it. :)

It was early in the evening in Dream Land. Clouds slowly coursed through the sky, glowing with the warmth of the evening sunlight. A large field with rolling hills, cluttered flowers, soft grass, and the occasional tree and clump of bushes here and there could be seen below. As the sweet spring breeze blew across the land, the grass of the field and the leaves of the trees and bushes swayed gently, creating waves, as if the field had become a green ocean. Kirby was in the middle of inhaling multiple Maxim Tomatoes he had picked up earlier. Just before he gulped the last one down, a group of leaves blew into his mouth by the strengthening wind, but he didn't mind, quickly deciding to swallow them as well with a hefty gulp.

Kirby had been on his way to meet up with his friends with food he had picked up for them all, but he unfortunately missed lunch and couldn't pass up the opportunity to eat a few things. All the food he had was gone before he knew it, but at least his tummy wasn't complaining at him anymore. As the wind blew as it did earlier, Kirby lifted up his head to take a quick sniff, but not for the wind. He didn't care much for the breeze when he could smell sweet berries nearby! He was still hungry even after his hearty meal...

He quickly ran towards the scent, bouncing as he went. Soon enough, he spotted a large cluster of bushes with small red berries peaking out from behind the thick foliage. He also noticed a few flowers poking out in the color of butterscotch, which he'd never seen before. They reminded him of the caramel apples he and Bandana Waddle Dee made together recently. He still couldn't understand why Bandana Dee almost passed out after tasting his batch... oh well, they were still delicious! The memory made him drool a bit.

He reached in and started picking them, stuffing them in his mouth as he went. Eventually though, all the food had made him drowsy. He could hardly keep his eyes open. He looked around for a comfy spot, and a tree caught his attention. It had been damaged from the looks of it, but he was too tired to wonder why. Once near it, he plopped over without a care in the world and snuggled up close to it, where he quickly fell asleep.

Kirby was right in the middle of dreaming about Strawberry Shortcake when he was suddenly woken up. His vision was blurry for a few seconds, but it cleared up shortly. He lifted up his hand to see a small firefly had landed on him. It was night now, so he must have slept the day away without realizing it, but this didn't matter to him. A beautiful starlit night sky dazzled above, glittering with stars of all shapes and sizes. Still drowsy from his sleep, he contently watched the little insect as it faintly glowed. Without warning, it took off into the air. The puffball, now intrigued, jumped up to follow it, and soon he realized that he was surrounded by bright glowing lights, almost as if a few of the stars from the sky had come down to his level to greet him.

The firefly, after buzzing around for a bit, decided to take a quick grounded break. Kirby carefully approached it, awestruck. Just then, from above, a dazzling meteor shot across the sky, leaving a trail of wonderous colors behind it, followed by many other smaller ones much farther away in space. Kirby, completely oblivious to this, quietly watches over his new little glowing friend. He tilts his head in pure curiosity, simultaneously resisting the immense urge to eat the little guy.

"...Poyo?"
