Haunted Halls

Author Comments

Haunted Halls, a terrible game that's part of a collection of other terrible games known as Action 52.
It's probably one of the least terrible of said games.
Which isn't saying much, considering it's still pretty shitty.

This is what I think it would look like if it had been made by a decent developer.
It's supposed to be a spooky side-scrolling platformer.

Happy Halloween, and watch out for ghosts.

And yes I've been watching a lot of AVGN recently.

nice pixels dude!

"Just like Dark Souls with tits."

- Dean Takahashi from alternate universe.

Nice art dude.

I can see someone like Wayforward do something in the veins of this, but be a bit more of a mature kick with it. This has a lot of Castlevania inspiration in it. I like that.

Mataknight responds:

When I think of platforming games with horror themes Castlevania is the first thing that comes to mind.

By a decent developer and if it had been made for a console with some extra juice, maybe. On the other hand, had this game been made today it wouldn't run on anything but the highest of the highest-end pcs, no optimization, no graphical options available, and it would still be in 2D "retro" graphics...

Have you ever thought of working for an evil empire like ljn? You could make it big there man.

Mataknight responds:

Nah, brah.
I'm not good enough to be a Laughin' Jokin' Numbnut.
