RWBY is an important show to me.

I first entered in contact with RWBY in 2018 when my life was at a low point and I was in such a bad situation that I didn't even have any idea how I could fix it.

No matter how I looked at things, absolutely nothing that I did seemed to work, every action would only result in failure, and things would only get exponentially worse as that year went by.

I couldn't sleep due to anxiety, fear and panic, and would spend my night trying to relax while listening to music but It wouldn't work.

In one of those nights, after the end of one of my playlists, a song called "Let's just live" was recommended, the song talked about trying your hardest to achieve something, suffering a crushing inescapable defeat, and losing the people and things you care about. Those lyrics resonated deep with me, and, even though I still couldn't sleep, from time to time I would find comfort on the chorus 'Let's just live, day by day, and not be conquered by our sorrows, the past can't hold us down, we must break free, inside we are torn apart, but time will mend our hearts", and that helped move on from the worst time of my life.

At that time, I didn't even know the song was part of the soundtrack to a show and I only knew RWBY as the series the internet complained a lot about that one of my high school friends recommended to me once (Sorry Kevin, I should have watched RWBY when you talked about it).

I would only discover that "Let's just live" was the opening to one of RWBY volumes in early 2023, when I was in a better place both financially and mentally, able to truly relax and enjoy life in general. I found the show while looking for things to watch and it looked kinda cool, 3d animation is not too much of my cup of tea but i tried anyway and didn't regret it.

The show may have collected a lot of ill intent on the internet along the years, but it's a surprisingly great show, most of the bad things people say about RWBY are more related to the time gap between seasons (volumes) and production problems than the show itself.

The show was created in 2013 by a guy name Monty Oum and was made by a, at the time, independent studio named Rooster Teeth. However, between the launch of the show and today, a lot of things happened. Monty, the creator, passed away in 2015 and the studio went through a lot of merges, belonging now to a division of Warner Bros.

I won't spoil the series because the story is, as I said, great, but I will talk about its themes. The main theme of RWBY is losing people and things you care about, every single character in RWBY, be it a main character, a villain and even side-characters have lost something important to them at some point of their lives. The show then develops the characters by showing how they deal with their loss, the heroes are defined by what they want to live for in the future and what they still have left meanwhile the villains are defined by their obsession with what they lost and their inability to accept the changes of their lives.

I was positively surprised by the show and annoyed at how the internet treated it along its years, and when I finally reached Volume 4 (second most hated volume by internet, and my favorite volume) I was mesmerized by the fact that the song that I kept on my playlist all those years ago was a opening of RWBY, and how well they connected with each other (even people who hate on RWBY agree that the soundtracks are great).

So, we are finally here, most people will probably not read this text, but there is an important reason why I'm writing it, remember when I said that the studio that had made this cool show now belonged to Warner Bros division ? Well, look at that, Warner Bros, alongside a lot of recent stupid corporate decisions, has decided to close down Rooster Teeth, the studio that made RWBY, and not only that, but the staff only discovered it because of a news article, since W.B. didn't tell them.

These people worked hard for 10 years, giving their very best, surviving a lot of financial issues of the studio and honoring the dream of a dear friend who passed away, and Warner Bros didn't even have the decency to personally tell them that the studio was closing down and that they were going to be fired. That is despicable.

Look, I know people in the internet like to dogpile on Rooster Teeth because of "reasons" , but right now the employees and creatives of the studio are in a bad situation, they don't have their jobs anymore, the company (W.B.) that fired them has a history of destroying art (Search for the Coyote Movie for more information on this) and their lives' work will probably be deleted so that Warner Bros can get a tax write off.

The people in Rooster Teeth have worked hard for years and they don't deserve to be insulted when they are in such a terrible situation, due to this, I must ask of you, if you see someone celebrating the bad stuff that is happening or using this occurrence as a way of vomiting hate content and monetizing it, don't engage with these people.

I ask of you to do something good instead, if you have contacts in the industry, help the Rooster Teeth employees get new jobs, if you have a special memory related to the studio (like me), share it so that they can see how they positively impacted other people's lives, if you have storage space on your computer, download "by legal means" the content Rooster Teeth produced along the years, so that their art can be remembered and enjoyed in the future in case of a deletion for a tax write off, if you made fanart of any of Rooster Teeth's shows, share it so that their memory will live on.

I don't know how to end this, but if you are a employee of Rooster Teeth that was recently laid off and is reading this text, I would like to thank you for the work that you did along the years, I know the internet can be a cruel place sometimes, but I would like you to know that you made a difference and the art you created helped a lot of people through a difficult times.
