H: “What-- Me?! A ploy? Wh-- I-I--"

Toad: "Don’t you play DUMB with me! You, SS Toad, that “Dark Lord” A… There was no WAY it could’ve been a coincidence!”

H: "N-Now wait just a second! What would I have to gain from cheating you out of your marriage?"

Toad: "DO I LOOK LIKE I NEED A REASON, YOU DOG?!! You broke my heart— it’s only fair that I break YOU!”

Sometime after beating Miitopia for the Nintendo Switch I came up with the idea of the Prince of Neksdor (Toad) from the first act of the game becoming a recurring boss for whatever reason.

The reason in question being that he somehow convinces himself that the whole feud during that part of the game was an elaborate plan to ruin his arranged marriage with the King of Greenhorne's daughter, and the protagonist (the letter H) was the one behind it.

And then he spends the rest of the game trying to kill him, gradually becoming an even bigger arsehole with each bout.

To be frank I just like the whole "recurring side character you're supposed to hate" archetype for some reason.
