Edna had a good life. A good job as seamstress, a good husband, two very good children, many friends and a beautiful apartment she and her husband worked hard to buy. They made so many wonderful memories there - choosing a wallpaper for their bedroom wall, having friends over for coffee, coming home after the birth of their first child, family meals on Sunday afternoons, their younger daughter playing her first notes on their old piano, the first calm mornings after their children had moved out... Time had passed by in a glimpse. Her husband had gotten sick soon after and had rarely left this room until his passing two years ago. The funeral had been rather small as their circle of friends had gotten thin over the years. Her children came by whenever they were in town. Edna was happy they had their own good lives... she would just wish they would call more often... She used to go to a bridge club, but the commute had gotten too exhausting, so she stopped going there altogether. She tried passing her time at home, but her eyes weren't the same anymore and she struggled whenever she tried sewing or reading one of her beloved books. The days had gotten quite long lately... and still way too short when she thought of it...
This is my entry to Jazza’s competition on the topic of 'Isolation' using light as a key feature.

I'm very new to digital art. In fact, this is my first serious piece since I bought my tablet and played around a bit.
It will definitely not be my last but there's still so much to learn!
I'm open to and happy about any constructive criticism and advice for future projects.
Thanks for visiting!
