May as well start with one of my OCs. Akarei Yorume, Third Seat of Division Six.

After Aizen’s betrayal, Yorume’s valor in trying to fight the trio to prevent Byakuya from being harmed even further than he already had been from Shinsou led to her promotion as an Elite Sixth Division Unit, and was given the red tassled Haori here. (The haori thing is actually canon by the way, Sixth Division Elites really do wear those)

She has black hair, red irises, and small, delicate extremities (feet, hands, ears, nose). Her hair falls to just below her shoulders. She is about 5′6 and weighs about 66.6 kg (about 146 pounds).

Yorume is generous and motivated to help others. When the former Lieutenant of Division Six stepped down, she was offered the position, but she declined in favor of Renji, who she felt needed that place more than she did, in order to get closer to Rukia. After testing him by fighting him (she lost of course) she recommended him for the position instead.

However, she also likes to fight, to experience fear and pain. She is very much a masochist, and spent some time in the Eleventh, becoming known for her absolute refusal to stop fighting no matter how much she was injured.

She is enamored with Byakuya and tags along after him like a lost puppy. She is actually considered his personal bodyguard (not that he needs one) and attendant. She stays in the Sixth Division Barracks, but can often be found in the Kuchiki Manor on off time, attending to Byakuya’s whims (and scrubbing bloodstains out of his clothes after he fights.)

Her Zanpakuto is Taitoaruba, and her release command is Shriek. Taitoaruba heats up to forging temperature, develops a few small holes in it and the end of the grip melts into the shape of an Imperial dragon’s head. The command is shriek because the sound of the super hot blade with the well placed holes in both the blade and the handguard when it is being swung makes a horrible shrieking sound. If ranged combat is needed, the dragon head on the end of the grip can breathe a jet of fire up to 13 feet.

Her Bankai is Jigoku no Tsubasa, or “Hell’s Wings.” Her entire sword bursts into a flurry of embers that surround her arms, turning them into great fiery, feathered wings, though she still has use of her hands (though her nails turn into talons). She can fly in this form but it is rather ungainly and clumsy like a goose’s flight.

She also has a Hollow form. When she was an infant in the human world, a Hollow attached itself to her soul so as to not die by a Shinigami’s blade. The Hollow’s name is Suukyu, and she takes the form of a large western dragon. Her tail tip drips with a slimy fluid that, if ingested or absorbed, causes a foe to become helplessly enamored with her. In fact, she gained the code name “Succubus” while she was still active for that reason.

Suukyu and Yorume are now so closely intertwined that it would kill them both to separate them. Yorume eventually gains the power to activate Suukyu’s powers at will, and even to take that dragon form when necessary. She has dedicated her power, all of it, to protect the Kuchiki family no matter what happens.
