“I slipped my backpack off my shoulders and pulled out my lunch box. Opening it, I gently jostled its contents to put my small pile of candy on top. My hands shook as I turned it around and offered it to the tiny Demon.

“Here,” I spoke softly. “Take one. Happy Halloween.”

It slowly lifted Its head and scooped two wrapped sweets into Its carved mouth. They gently fizzled over Its now shrinking flame.

In a quiet voice, like the sound of a gentle breeze whistling through Autumn trees, it spoke. It sounded like a kid, younger than I was, that struggled like someone speaking a second language.

“THANK… YOU…”

The pumpkin fell to the ground and smashed open with a thud as Its body collapsed to ashes. The flame inside extinguished.

The presence was gone. It returned to the unknown realm it came from.

It was over.”

Stage 6, the finale. Halloween is over and October has passed. The Hallowgamate, having learned a valuable lesson about friendship, returned to Its home dimension. A happy ending! : )

In the coming days The Hallowgamate will be submitted to Art Fight as a character you can attack! I’m leaving It as open to interpretation, more based on the text source material than my artwork, because I think it would be fun to see other peoples’ takes on it.
