Few are the denizens of the Thorn Valley and even fewer are those denizens that actually thrive in this hell of a land. The Thornchilds are amongst these wicked few , a cunning creature of immense ferocity and horrible malice. Some say the thornchild is a demon breed that caused such havoc that even its fellow devils couldnt stand him , thus they exiled him in the mortal realm. Other rumours have the thornchild being an elemental creature , the embodiment of the Thorn Valley's hatred and hazards. Whatever its origin may be , the thorn child doesnt seem to care much. Its often too busy impaling adventurers on its back or fighting with its kin. The foul creatures , although incapable of proper communication , have a very mocking personality. They laugh and taunt as they torture their prey , piercing and cutting with their spikey bodies until the enemy has died from blood loss. To fight the Thornchild , one must forsake close combat. The creature is armored with stone-hard spikes that cut and impale. This , combined with monkey-like dexterity makes them almost impossible to outcombat in melee. Arrows are also weak against the Thornchild for the reasons stated above. Unless the archer has a hawk's precision or the fighter cuts swiftly as the wind , it is prefered to use magic against this foe. Note however that the Thornchild does have a weakness. Ironically , this weakness is its greatest asset. The Thornchild is so childish and overly comfident on its thorny armour that it becomes daring , even reckless. No Thornchild believes someone can best it until the moment it draws its last breath. When in combat , it gets so fixated and taunting that it often leaves openings. Wether you are fast enough to ultilise them , this is your concern.
