I wanted to give a side-character who I hadn't drawn in a while some love, so here's Abigail with her hoodie up on a melancholy sunset.
You might also notice that this particularly drawing looks leaps and bounds more detailed than anything previously! I also wanted to take my art to the next level and implement shadows and lighting and try out new effects and perspectives, and this was the perfect piece to do that with. I was so surprised by how much it all brought the drawing to life! The orange light of the sunset, everything having a shadow, the depth-of-field to focus on the subject (Abigail), and the more unique perspective to show the area in a less "flat" way.
This is definitely my new standard going forward -- all my old drawings just don't look even half as good anymore! Am I finally reaching that crucial point in every artist's life where they begin to hate their old work? Hah hah, nah, I'm joking.
