So, the new Final Fantast Remastered trailer dropped about a week to two weeks ago and I gotta say: I'm not impressed. As hard as it is for me to admit it, Square Enix, isn't the company that it used to be, and unfortunately, It hasn't been for a while. The decline has been going on for years, and after Secret of Mana's remaster, KH3, Crystal Chronicles Remaster, The world ends with you Remaster, Avengers, Chrono Trigger on Steam, and the lack of graphical options (without the use of mods) for FF6 and a few others on Steam, I think I've given them about all I can. Hell, I even tried Legend of Mana, which I owned on the PS1, and even that felt lackluster considering they never made any improvements besides the art. All in all, I think slowly but surely, I've fallen out of love with the charm their games used to bring, because all they do now are cash grabs. And sure, ff7 remake was actually pretty good (even if it wasn't my cup of tea) and yeah they fixed Chrono trigger (eventually) but even these good things seem insignificant to all the crap they've done, and with this remaster coming out, it seems like another half hearted attempt at reviving games that have been ported several times, including on the platform they're releasing on. And if you own them, don't count on a discount or an upgrade, because the only sale you get is the one when you buy the $75 bundle! I'm sure people will just say don't buy it and all that, but even then, it still sucks that this company I had so much respect for and was inspired by, continues to show how little they care about the fans.
