a reference / pose sheet for my OC Jane, the alter ego of The Masked Jack

Glad to finally have a decent design down.

At an incredibly young age, the girl now known as Jane was faced with an ultimatum by the long missing hero of the United Kingdom, Union Jack; "Take up this belt and sword, or die by this monster's hands."

Not given much of a choice, she struck down the bizarre alien worm that was persueing the hero, sealing her fate as the next Union Jack as the previous died from his wounds...

What followed was over a decade of the girl fighting an invisible war against an invading alien menace. In this decade she lost everything from her friends, her family and even her name. Not just her birth name, now going by the simple alias of Jane Doe, but also her alter ego was dubbed The Masked Jack by the public, to not associate them with their lost hero.

However, one fateful day the invaders decided to launch their final assault, against the Masked Jack. And after a series of battles, the Masked Jack had finally slain their leader and with it, the entire invader army. After so long, the battle was finally over...

However, Jane would not know peace. Her lifetime of experiences as well as conflicting beliefs and contemplating the nature of her given power had already shaped her into a bitter person, but losing her singular purpose in life had driven her into despair.

Combined with witnessing the corruption in her country as well as learning more about the invaders motivations, she concluded that not only was her country not worth saving, but she was fighting on the wrong side all this time.

She continues to wander England, searching for new enemies to fight and hopefully someone who can finally take her down...

Jane is generally quite quiet and aloof, generally looking and sounding like she could pass out at any second. She's prone to contemplating the nature of things and is very observant of her surroundings and people.

She naturally has an excellent memory and call remember minor facts and details with surprising accuracy.

Underneath her more level headed nature lies a more broken psyche prone to more extreme emotions that tend to leak out during battle or stress. She also has a more sadistic side that takes joy in slaughtering or even torturing her enemies.

Despite this, she can be surprisingly polite and patient with people and is quite susceptible to logic to the point where she can be talked out of her killings if given a sound enough argument. (trying to play the "if you kill them you'll be just like them" card will just piss her off, however.)

She also holds an immense dislike towards heroes and cannot stand being called one. She'll even go as far as to attack up-and-coming heroes to dissuade them from becoming one.

Due to being homeless and constantly on the move, she has no real time for hobbies, but she has a love for reading. Her only real joy outside of battle is visiting a library to spend an hour or 5 reading whatever she can. She has no real preference for genre or content and just enjoys the process of reading and absorbing information. In moments of stress she'll even read the contents of a candy bar wrapper over and over to calm herself.
