In honor of World Penguin Day and for my favorite penguin movie (and documentary) March of the Penguins, allow me to introduce you to my take on a next Smiling Critters character.

This is Chillie Birdie the Emperor Penguin! Chillie is from a line of Smiling Critters that are mainly released during the holidays (in her case, would most likely be Christmas) they represent as part of Winter season.

Chillie is a shy, cool, calm, and fun-loving emperor penguin with a huge sense of fun and coolness (no pun intended) that'll make her fellow penguins and flightless birds proud and as well as make winter fun.

She always love the snow so much that she can do pretty much every activity that requires snow and ice, like, ice skating, making snowmen, snow angels, snowballs, snowboarding, sledding, catching snowflakes with tongues, etc.

Her major secret or weakness is that she's painfully shy around handsome male birds, especially her secret crush, Kickin Chicken.

Symbol: A simple ice blue snowflake

Signature Scent: Holly berries

Fun Facts and/or Inspirations:

*Chillie's name is a pun on "chilly," was the word for everything that's cold and "Chile (pronounced as chilly/chilli)" is a name from the southernmost country from South America and is closest to Antarctica, and besides Antarctica, that place is also known as where some penguins live.

*Chillie's looks and personality is closest to a Care Bear cousin Cozy Heart Penguin. A stuffed penguin toy and character from a franchise based on the Care Bears toyline. A arctic animal that is usually gentle & peaceful, and tends to get chilly and likes to get cozy during winter times.

*The band of animals gathering among four of the Smiling Critters featured here is a reference to some Christmas Specials, like A Charlie Brown Christmas for an example.

*The Smiling Critters holiday line is similar to the likes of Duffy Bear, Strawberry Shortcake, Care Bears, and My Little Pony. Where there are toys of the merchandise and/or franchise are only available/released in specific times.
