he was killed by his own allies due to refusing to betray his queen as his loyalty alone is too strong to ever do such thing. he was dead until he was revive by his own childhood friend name anthony. who is actually a witch and was raise by the bloodborne witch and train as well.

rosario at first thought that anthony was the one who killed him (though anthony led him to believe that) until he realize that it was his allies alone. heartbroken and betrayed the fact that his allies just killed him without a second thought, he didn't know how to reacted but just let alone feel it. though it didn't took too long since he went to go save his queen from the danger of the prince (the one who hired his allies to do the job to kill him.)
