Name: Rock
Age: 38
Species: Giant Ground Sloth
Occupation: Hunter/Guardian
Skill(s): Brutal Attacks
Weapon(s): Giant Stone Club
Home World: Predaterria
Likes: hunting, meat, fighting, and being loud.
Dislikes: Sitting around, bad guys, and school.
Personality: Rock is tough in both strength and personality. He is also fearless. When around his allies, Rock is a little calmer. But around enemies, he is rash and loud and will absolutely beat them to a pulp with little to no mercy. Though he is very rash overall.
Backstory: Rock, a Giant Ground Sloth, had always been a native in his world known as “Predaterria” since he was very little. Since he was smaller he would hunt down prey of all sizes for the small village he had lived in. The village had noticed the young Rock’s potential and dubbed him the protector of the village.
Also, apparently, because of his focus on training, hunting, and fighting Rock never gained a proper education, which is why he had given himself the name Rock… He didn’t know much about naming himself at the time. Or speaking correctly for that matter.
They say Rock is so powerful that he carved his own weapon from stone with his claws alone.
Years later, green creatures of all shapes and sizes appeared and terrorized the village and made food scarce. With these invaders running around causing chaos in Predaterria, this had made Rock a lot more vigilant and angry. So, if by any chance any otherworldly beings show up, Rock would most like attack without a second thought.
Design Origins: While I was thinking of ideas for worlds to implement in Ima Quest’s universe, one of the many worlds I have come up with was Predaterria which was heavily influenced by prehistoric times. The original character idea for this world was originally going to be a human caveman named Ruckus. But I figured I had already introduced a lot of human/human-like characters so I decided to change his species while keeping the caveman aspect. Another idea for his species was a kind of sentient prehistoric plant but none of the plants I had found fit the character.
After researching prehistoric animals I had remembered the creature known as the Giant Ground Sloth. I thought that design-wise, this type of creature would be perfect for rock.
And yeah, I know sloths are known to be slow and all… But this is a fictional character. Real-world logic doesn’t have to apply to fictional characters that much.
