I don't like sounding pretentious when giving my thoughts on an art piece, especially when I don't know or able to guess the thought process behind it. Something I would argue is important for understanding any piece of art. And while I do believe that every work should be able to speak for itself, I also feel that one can develop a more intimate understanding of an art piece by having a good feel for the mind behind it. Kind of like learning a language in a way. It's one thing to recognize the symbols and characters, however, it can mean a lot more when you can recognize how they all work together.

Anyway, this particular piece got my brain going, and seeing as I can't guess at its meaning, I can at least say what it makes me think of, that being lively places that have gone quiet and empty. Like walking down a once busy street at night. As you walk you notice how the streetlights both cast shadows on and bounce light off of things you wouldn't have noticed during the day, making the street seem more colorful and interesting than when the sun was out. Your attention is less focused on the drawings on the sidewalk and more drawn toward the broken glass littering the street. Another thing that came to mind was, walking through a busy household when everyone's gone to sleep. The lights are off, leaving only the light from outside to illuminate the rooms. Everything in the house is scattered about, frozen in time, patiently waiting for the family to wake up.

I've got little doubt that what I think when I see this is way different from what you thought when you made it, but hey man, I like it all the same. Keep doing what you're doing.
