I love the perspective
This month’s Draw With Jazza’s Challenge of the month was to depict a story teller, past or present, surrounded by characters from their creation. In my entry I have chosen the late, great Gerry Anderson who brought us Supercar, Fireball XL5, Joe 90, Terrahawks, UFO, Space 1999 and his most well known and famous Thunderbirds. This show has recently being reimagined as a CGI Cartoon ‘Thunderbirds Are go’.
In my depiction, I chose only to use the Thunderbird characters and created a scene showing our Tale Teller, being saved by International Rescue from a collapsing building, in the episode ‘Terror in New York City’. In this story they were trying to relocate the Empire State building with a specially adapted crane, which developed a fault causing the building to crumble.
Gerry was probably the main person to inspire my passion for all things Science Fiction and felt it was appropriate sharing this Tale Teller in my entry. One final note, when creating this piece, it became apparent to keep the pencil lines to represent the 60’s feel when this show was made.
