Final Fantasy VI - Terra Branford in Battle

Share

One of my actual New Years resolutions is to actually take part in the Challenge of the Month for Jazza's channel, so this is just a first step, I think. All new to New Grounds as well. orz
I really wanted to draw Terra / Tina from Final Fantasy VI and I did take some inspiration from the newer official art, but also decided to give it a bit of my own spin, since even the official art varies quite and bit.

Copyright belongs to Square Enix / FINAL FANTASY VI Terra Branford. The game was first released in April 1994 for SNES, original character design by Yoshitaka Amano.

Great work

You do some great work here love the backround and love the detailed characters here very talented indeed a very sharp and colorful piece

Imagine if the game evolved like this. :D Awesome reinterpretation of a memorable classic! And also, that line of trees looks almost like a mirage, or a reflection, the way the contours fade out in the sand, as if the desert in the distance is a surface of water that blends in seamlessly with the sand (more noticeable while viewing in full resolution). Pretty dreamy effect. Looks good!

Thanks a lot for your kind comment. I got quite frustrated with the end result, because it just wasn't turning out right. The original was already so detailed...it's amazing! I looked at many screen shots from the game and they are all so cool already...haha

Either way, I am glad you like it!!!! ^^)
