My entry for Jazza's Challenge of the month! This took a heckin long time and it took an extra while to figure out how to upload it... but! It's all good in the end.
This was a lot of fun to do and I hope I executed the spirit of the challenge well!
Basically what I was going for was an alternate dimension sort of thing where we're shown the apocalyptic scene of another planet. In this universe/timeline, our hero is the one who was swept away by the trials of The End- his Floating Alien Wife mourns above his grave while his ghost denys himself to look at her purple, tear-stained cheeks.
It's amazing what you can accomplish using color and how drastically it can change a story- although I tried to keep the theme of loss and overall somber feeling in place, I also wanted to think outside of the box and tell the story in a different... lighting.
Anyway, this was a pleasure to participate in and I wish everyone luck!
I had to re-size the canvas so it'd fit here so heres the full thing: https://jellybunbuns.deviantart.com/art/Apocalypse-Ghostie-724219894?ga_submit_new=10%3A1515337465&ga_type=edit&ga_changes=1&ga_recent=1
