I wanted to experiment with a slightly different style for this one, especially since "The Amazing Digital Circus" takes place in a 90s computer game. Therefore, I tried to capture that old school style of 3D graphics.
As for why Meggy and Mario are here, the idea is that they're trying to help Pomni out of there.
