It's been a while since I drew a planet from our solar system ^^. So today I decided to draw our closest neighboring planet Venus. It's a bit of a shame that this planet is somewhat of a hot toxic wasteland with a thick atmosphere and lesser ambient temperatures around 460°C. Before this planet was explored by the soviets in the late 1960's it was discussed whether there could be lifeforms below the dense layers of clouds or secret worlds we still have to discover. It was even thought to send astronauts there xD. Well... Today we know it wouldn't really be possible.

Either way. Some of the older SciFi literature actually picked up these different ideas. One books called "The forests of Venus" from Tonke Dragt is still one of my favorite books and it is interesting to see how much more enganged people were in spacetravel and space back in the 60s and 70s.

Anyway. I hope you like my version of Venus I tried to make it accurate even if I increased the saturation of colors a bit.

Thank you!

Ha, this art reminds me one of my last year art with Venus humanisation, that I made for presentation about Venus! (https://vk.com/karlik044?w=wall-142181470_908)

And yeah, this art is awesome!

Jadago responds:

Hehe thanks. Im glad you like it.
Yea Venus is quite a nice planet. Its interesting how much it showed up in the good old scifi novels and comics. It's a shame everybody is just looking at mars these days ;D
